Managing Director Julian Ackert to co-present in Philadelphia on May 4
iDiscovery Solutions (iDS), an award-winning legal technology consulting and expert services firm, announced today that Managing Director Julian Ackert will co-present “Social Media and E-Discovery Laws & Ethics” with Post & Schell’s Abraham J. Rein, Co-Chair of the Firm’s Information Privacy & Security Practice Group. The 90-minute, complimentary CLE will take place live on Thursday, May 4, at 12:00 p.m. ET at Post & Schell’s Conference Center in Philadelphia. Lunch will be served to all attendees.
Social media has brought drastic changes in peoples' lives. Every day, millions of social media users "post", "like", "tweet", and "share". Consequently, the rise of social media has brought noticeable impacts in eDiscovery and the legal industry overall, playing a big role in litigation. Mr. Schell and Mr. Ackert will review the current social media landscape and the thorny ethical and legal considerations raised when eDiscovery and social media intersect.
Mr. Ackert is an expert in forensic data collection and analysis, creating and implementing preservation and collection strategies, managing eDiscovery for litigation, and developing methodologies and best practices for litigation preparedness. He has written expert reports and provided testimony on the forensic preservation, acquisition, and analysis of electronic information. Mr. Ackert is a member of The Sedona Conference, Working Group 11 (Data Security and Privacy).
“I’m honored to have been asked to participate with Abraham at this Post & Schell CLE event,” said Mr. Ackert. “iDS often provides expert forensics and consulting services in connection with social media evidence, including collection and preservation. It’s important to develop strategic plans to determine where data has been, where it is now, and what can be collected and this session will help guide counsel through the process.”
