WILMINGTON, Del.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Snowden Lane Partners, an independent, advisor-owned, wealth advisory firm dedicated to providing client-focused advice in a values-driven culture, today announced that Cynthia Hewitt, CIMA, CPRC, CPWA, a top ranked veteran financial advisor, has joined the firm as a Senior Partner and Managing Director.
“There are not many advisors with Cynthia’s level of experience and insight,” said Greg Franks, President and COO of Snowden Lane. “She helped create the template of what an effective financial advisor should be, and her influence in the industry can’t be overstated. We’re a stronger firm with her on board and are excited to welcome her.”
Cynthia Hewitt joins Snowden Lane after an illustrious and highly accomplished career at Merrill Lynch. Starting there in 1976, she was one of just a few female financial advisors, and over the next 40 years became one of Merrill Lynch’s top advisors. She and her prior team of four professionals and three support managed $1.4 billion in assets, generating over $7.5 million in revenue, and she received many awards and accolades throughout her career until her retirement in 2018.
“I’ve known Snowden Lane’s leadership team for decades and it’s been wonderful to see the firm grow into one of the leading independent advisory boutiques in the industry,” said Hewitt. “When I realized I still wanted to work with clients, I knew that the independent model was the right one, and Snowden Lane was immediately on my radar. I’m excited to join this values-driven, client-focused partnership.”
“Cynthia is a legend in the advisor community and we’re absolutely delighted she’s joining the Snowden Lane family,” said Rob Mooney, CEO of Snowden Lane. “Her list of accomplishments is literally too long to recite, and we look forward to the many great things we know she’ll achieve for her clients in the years to come.”
In 2004, Hewitt was named one of the Top 20 female financial advisors in the nation by Research Magazine. She was named one of “America’s best financial advisors” by R.J. Shook in his book, The Winner’s Circle. In 2009, Cynthia was included as one of the Barron’s Top 1000 Advisors in the US, and also to the “Top 100 Wirehouse Advisors in America” list by Registered Rep. magazine. Barron’s also included her in their annual Top 1,200 Advisors in the Country from 2010-2015 and named her #1 in the state of Delaware.
Lyle LaMothe, Snowden Lane’s Chairman added: “The wealth advisory business has changed a lot in recent years, but the core tenets of what an advisor should be have stayed fairly constant. Cynthia is the embodiment of those core values, and to have someone of her level come on board speaks to the strong foundation we’ve built at Snowden Lane.”
Hewitt graduated from Vanderbilt University and is currently working on a Master’s degree at the University of Delaware. She earned a Certified Investment Management Analyst designation (CIMA) and is a former member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA).
