Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin is pleased to announce that James R. Craig has joined the firm as an Associate.

James R. Craig is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Department, as well as its Municipal Law Team. Prior to joining the firm, James gained significant experience in a diverse array of commercial and residential real estate transactional matters, as well as zoning and development issues. He has handled zoning and land use matters in the City of Philadelphia, its suburbs, as well as in the City of Pittsburgh, and has argued over 400 commercial and residential real estate tax assessment appeals across dozens of counties. Additionally, James was the owner of a real estate closing company from which he gained significant experience in residential and commercial real estate acquisitions and unique insight into the residential and commercial real estate industries.

Currently, James serves as a Member of the Zoning and Land Use Committee and Community Outreach Committees of the United Francisville Civic Association (UFCA) Resident Community Organization (RCO) and is a former Member of the Zoning and Land Use Committee of the Center City Organized for Responsible Development RCO. He is an active member of the Montgomery, Allegheny and Washington County Bar Associations, as well as the Pennsylvania Association for Justice and the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) where he previously served on their Young Adult Advisory Board.

A 2014 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, School of Law, James served as Associate Editor of JURIST, the world’s only law school-based legal news and commentary service and received awards in Trial Advocacy. James received his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh in 2011.

James is a proud Eagle Scout and spent twelve (12) years volunteering as an instructor for the Boy Scouts of America’s National Youth Leadership Training Program, helping to shape the character and values of thousands of young men.
