CBRE is pleased to announce that Steven Doherty has earned the title of Executive Vice President. Mr. Doherty, who is based in the firm’s Radnor, Pennsylvania office, is a member of the Debt & Structured Finance group within CBRE Capital Markets. In this role, he is responsible for origination and underwriting of commercial real estate transactions for life insurance companies, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, banks and other third party capital sources in the greater Philadelphia region and throughout the country.

In his more than 30-year career, Steve has managed mortgage banking offices, which have produced more than $15 billion in transactions, including generating $4 billion personally. Steve started the CBRE Debt & Structured Finance group in greater Philadelphia in 2016. The team has since originated over $3 billion in capital for both institutional and private clients. In 2019 alone, Mr. Doherty was involved in more than $800 million in financings.

Prior to joining CBRE, Mr. Doherty was co-manager of Berkadia Commercial Real Estate in Philadelphia and its predecessor GMAC Commercial Mortgage for 11 years.

Mr. Doherty graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and earned a Master of Business Administration from St. Joseph’s University. Outside of work, Steve serves on the board of directors for the Uplift Center for Grieving Children and has raised and donated more than$1.5 million for The Julianna Hike Fund, Philadelphia Foundation.
