Community Celebrates Resident’s 100th Birthday

4/27/20

Mary Frazier is a popular figure Connellsville Towers, a Rose community in Connellsville, PA, so when social distancing during the ongoing epidemic prevented family and friends from celebrating her recent 100th birthday, Community Manager Leah Bierer and her staff at the seniors high-rise sprung into action.

With the help of custodial tech Kayla Boothe and superintendent Rich Reese, the team at Rose Community Management contacted family, neighbors, friends and community leaders to plan something special. They enlisted the help of the local fire and police departments and on her birthday arranged for her to come out on her balcony as these first responders led a parade of vehicles playing sirens and flashing lights as cheering neighbors lined the street with signs wishing her a very Happy Birthday.

After the parade firemen and police, along with their trusty mascot, delivered cake and cookies and over 250 birthday cards from the community.

“Building communities is at the core of what we do at Jonathan Rose Companies,” said Ms. Bierer. “The isolation caused by the COVID virus has been particularly difficult for seniors like Mrs. Frazier, but our dedicated staff is always looking for new ways to assist our residents through daily well calls and adapting existing activities to comply with social distancing requirements. We are so happy that we were able to bring joy to Mary and her family, neighbors and friends during this difficult time.”
