Kay Chewning has joined Edge, a full-service commercial real estate firm with offices in Washington D.C., Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania as Director of Advisory Services. Chewning, who brings more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience to this new position, was formerly Managing Director at McBride Real Estate Services, Inc.

In her new role, Chewning will advise commercial real estate owners, as well as corporate occupiers, on all aspects of their commercial real estate requirements throughout the Greater Washington D.C. Metro area.

Having represented some of the area’s largest landlords, including Vornado/Charles E. Smith, Tishman Speyer, WashREIT, Saul Centers, Southern Management, TA Realty, and Blake Real Estate, Chewning is adept at reporting, forecasting, repositioning, re-branding, and marketing commercial assets in order to achieve their highest return.

Her experience representing a variety of corporate tenants over the years has given her a holistic view of the marketplace. She provides her clients with market knowledge, strategic planning, workplace strategies, and negotiating techniques to ensure they are making the best decisions when securing commercial space for their future.

Chewning is a member of the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Office and Industrial Parks (NAIOP) and has served on the Board for the Greater Washington Commercial Association of Realtors and the Commercial Real Estate Brokers Association. She is a licensed Salesperson in DC, MD and VA. She also sits on the Real Estate Committee for the Carpenter’s Shelter, a non-profit which supports the homeless in order to achieve independence through shelter, guidance education and advocacy.
