Pennsylvania Trust, a leading wealth management firm in the Greater Philadelphia region, has announced the appointment of Senior Vice President Jonathan M. Heckscher to Chief Investment Officer.

Heckscher joined Pennsylvania Trust in 2012 to enhance the firm’s active fixed income capabilities and solutions. As he assumes the new role of Chief Investment Officer, he will retain the duties of Director of Fixed Income and continue to oversee fixed income investment policy, strategy and security selection. With more than 20 years of investment management experience, Heckscher will be the lead architect of Pennsylvania Trust’s investment policy as he steers the Investment Policy Committee. He will serve as a key contributor to the firm’s investment management thought leadership and a member of the Management Committee.

Prior to joining Pennsylvania Trust, Heckscher served as Managing Director for Logan Capital, responsible for the firm’s fixed income portfolios. He also served as Director and Executive Vice President of LOM Asset Management Limited in Hamilton, Bermuda. As head of the portfolio management team, he was responsible for management of the LOM Fixed Income Fund. Heckscher started his career in the trust department at The Boston Company (now BNY Mellon).

“In his eight years with Pennsylvania Trust, Jon has established himself as an invaluable leader in the firm’s investment department. He is highly regarded by colleagues, clients, and outside investment professionals” said George C. McFarland, Jr., President and CEO of the firm. “I have great confidence that under Jon’s guidance we will continue to deliver superior investment outcomes that are consistent with our clients’ goals.”

In addition to regularly representing the firm at conferences and speaking engagements, Heckscher is a member of the Bond Club of Philadelphia, the Financial Management Committee of the Pennsylvania Association of Mutual Insurance Companies, and he serves on the Scholars Advisory Board of the Philadelphia Education Fund.

Heckscher received his B.A. in Psychology and Business Administration from Rollins College.
