The Shoppes at Wissinoming Continue to Enhance the Surrounding Neighborhoods
This Valentine’s Day, the Shoppes at Wissinoming will show some love to the surrounding lower Northeast Philadelphia community with the grand opening of a newly constructed 5,500-square-foot Wawa with gas. Located at Harbison Avenue and Tulip Street, The Shoppes at Wissinoming is a 110,000-square-foot center anchored by a 68,000-square-foot ShopRite* and Blink Fitness. The shopping center offers off-street parking for more than 600 vehicles and has a SEPTA bus stop (Route 73) directly inside its boundaries.
*The opening of ShopRite in 2018 represented the first coordinated federal government effort to eliminate food deserts around the country. Through state and city tax credits and support from the federal Healthy Food Financing Initiative, it became the first anchor tenant in the $29 million center, bringing over 300 full and part time jobs to the area, and giving residents access to an affordable, full service grocery store.
