Venerable Appoints Glenn Black as VP

Venerable today announced the appointment of Glenn Black as Vice President, Head of Tax. In this role, Black will report to David Wiland, Chief Financial Officer, and be responsible for developing and implementing the company's tax strategies, oversight and management of all income tax returns, tax accounting, and reporting. He will be based in West Chester, PA.

Black has significant background in tax practices for financial services organizations and most recently served as Assistant Vice President of Tax for Unum Group in Chattanooga, TN. In this role, Black was responsible for tax planning and mergers and acquisition support, including acquisition of a foreign life insurance company and leading a team to analyze and identify necessary reforms due to the Tax Cuts and Job Acts of 2017. Prior to Unum, Black held various tax leadership positions at Symetra, TIAA and ING. Black holds a Master of Accountancy and Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Management from Southern Illinois University.
