Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. (NYSE: SFE) today announced that, effective September 21, 2018, Mark A. Herndon, CPA will join the Company as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, succeeding David Kille, who recently resigned to pursue another professional opportunity. Herndon, 49, is a former PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP partner.

Herndon was named as an assurance partner at PwC in 2006. He joined the firm in 1991 after earning a bachelor's degree in accounting from Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, GA. He graduated from Goizueta Business School, Emory University, Atlanta with an executive MBA in 2001.
