Valley Forge Military College (VFMC) announced Dawn Dreese will serve as the new Senior Director of College Admissions. Dreese started her new position earlier this year following a promotion from Associate Director of Admissions.
“Dawn is a tremendous attribute to VFMC. Her tireless work ethic and unending dedication to the mission of the College will help future cadets find their path to success,” said Maureen Malone, Dean of Valley Forge Military College.
In her new role, Dreese will oversee the entire College admissions process and ensure prospective students have a positive experience from their first moment of interest to enrollment. Dreese will also manage financial aid and help cadets with their documentation and applications.
“In my time at VFMC, I’ve seen cadets grow and learn and mature. I enjoy aiding in that process,” said Dreese. “My personal goal for my new position is to enhance what a Valley Forge cadet is, making sure students enrolling here are suited for this type of structure and environment, and improving the overall academic standards of the College.”
Dreese has been with VFMC for more than eight years, working her way up from Admissions Counselor, where she managed applications and counseled families in financial aid. In 2011 she took on the role of Assistant Director of Admissions, where she coordinated all enrollment management events and served with the Cadet Mentoring Program. Since 2015, Dreese has served as Associate Director of Admissions and coordinated work-study cadets and developed enrollment assessment practices. She also works as an adjunct instructor at Montgomery County Community College and Delaware County Community College.
Dreese earned her bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communications from Arcadia University in Glenside, Pa. and a master’s degree in Organizational Communication from Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y. Next year she will have completed an Ed.D. in Higher Education from Widener University in Chester, Pa. In 2015, she was awarded the Order of Anthony Wayne by VFMC.
