Lawrence M. D’Andrea

Valley Forge Military Academy (VFMA) announced that Lawrence M. D’Andrea has been selected as the new Dean of Enrollment. D’Andrea took over the position after serving as the Chair of the VFMA Math Department and teaching AP Calculus, Trigonometry, Pre-Engineering, Geometry and Algebra.

“We knew Mr. D’Andrea was the most qualified person for this position,” said Sandra R. Young, Head of School for Valley Forge Military Academy. “His unique insight into what makes Valley Forge Military Academy graduates successful will help future cadets find what they are looking for at VFMA.”

As Dean of Enrollment, D’Andrea oversees the enrollment process, meeting with prospective cadets and working closely with their parents to make sure the experience will be a win-win for both VFMA and the family. According to D’Andrea, a VFMA education prepares cadets for college and beyond, so he looks for individuals who have an interest in learning discipline, structure and leadership.

“I’m a firm believer in Valley Forge Military Academy. Over my years here I’ve seen the transformation of young boys into young men,” said D’Andrea. “Cadets receive the education and skills here that follow military standards, but are applicable in any business today. They leave here prepared for college and whatever path they choose.”

D’Andrea joined VFMA in 2016. In addition to serving as Math Department Chair, he was Assistant Football and Track & Field Coach, Faculty Advisor of the Business Club and a Faculty Honor Council Member. Previously, he was a senior executive of Chemring Group PLC, a U.K. public company serving the defense/aerospace industry. He has also held positions with the Vanguard Group and ServiceMaster, and led an IPO during his time as Vice President of Finance at Nutrition Management Company. He was also an adjunct faculty member of Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business’ Accounting department from 2014 to 2018.

The West Chester, Pa. native graduated from Drexel University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, then earned his M.B.A., Cum Laude, in Accounting, Finance and Strategic Planning from Philadelphia University (now Jefferson University) in 1990. He is also an active Eagle Scout.
